STRONGER TOGETHER
Birks dominated the Canadian landscape throughout the 20th
century, and not only has it celebrated many fine moments
with Canadians accross the land but, it has also garnered
a multitude of awards celebrating its concepts and designs.
This philosophy of excellence has attracted talented individuals
such as current President and CEO Thomas A. Andruskevich,
a former Executive Vice President of Tiffany.
Under his leadership and guidance, the past 13 years have
been underlined by an agressive and extensive capital investment
campaign that has seen the remodelling of the stores, a focused
product development strategy based on the design and creation
of exclusive jewellery, a targeted merchandising strategy,
all of which have been accented by a consistently contemporary
national communications campaign.
As Birks' forward thinking strategy continues to propel the
brand, its partner company Mayors, which Birks purchased in
2002, also boasts a treasured past and a promising future.
Mayors, too, has a treasured past and promising future. For
Mayors, it has been almost 100 years of milestones. Today,
Mayors is a leader in fine jewellery and prestige timepieces
in southeastern United States. It is no surprise that Mayors
passion for quality, service and exclusive luxury brands was
welcomed and embraced by Birks.
As of 2002, Birks and Mayors came together sharing a common
vision and philosophy. In November 2005, the two companies
were joined as Birks&Mayors Inc.
As Mayors celebrates its 100th anniversary, it shares a common
philosophy with Birks: that of absolute quality, service and
exclusive brands.
As a leader in the luxury jewellery and prestigious timepiece
market, Mayors dominates this sector of the market in the
Southeastern United States.
As Birks & Mayors Inc., their combined prowess consistently
paves the way for continued growth.
"Today we're ready to confidently fulfill our promise
of an incredible brand experience in thoroughly contemporary
and welcoming environments," declares Andruskevich. "Our
products are relevant in terms of style, values and today's
aspirations. What we offer is exceptional rather than predictable.
It's distinctive styling that is appreciated by our clients
and essentially, we deliver an excellent brand experience."
The year 2007, marked the 128th anniversary of Birks and another
important milestone was celebrated coinciding with the company's
announcement of the BIRKS commitment as Official Supplier
of Jewellery for the 2010 Olympic Winter games taking place
in Vancouver, Canada.
While Birks celebrated this major milestone, Mayors also enjoyed
accolades as its excellence was recognized in Florida by the
South Florida Journal Business of the Year Award. Also, the
Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce bestowed the "Good
to Great Award," upon Mayors while CEO Tom Andruskevich
was named a Power Player by Florida International Magazine. |
